Thanks for your letters! We loved them! We'll reply during the holiday!

Hello Sacho ! As you can see we don't wear uniforms in France! We like wearing jeans and sweaters!
The fresco that you can see behind us was painted last year by a local artist with a group of pupils involved in the art project! Do you like it?

Laurier on Rugby and the Kenya Girl guides.

Bonjour.

The photo shows girl guides in our school carrying food supplies to feed hungry people around our school.
The Girl guides are similar to the boy scout movement.   in our school.  Right now the girl guides  are working on a project to help orphans in our school. It involves raising money, building grass thatched houses and mud walled houses for them. Okay, in our village a bad disease ravaged the land. So many people died and many of our school mates are orphans.
Do you wear uniform in your school ?
Cheers.

Linda Responds

Hello Antoine;
Bonjour à tous. !
I am not good in French. My sentences are not very good. We just started learning French two years ago.
I live with My Aunty because Iam an orphan. My parents died when I was very young. So I have been raised by my aunt. In Kenya, Many people have died as a result of HIV and AIDS.
The girls in Africa are looked down upon. Many parents do not take the girls to school. They take the boys to school instead. Also girls are married off forcibly to people who are older than them. I think these practices are bad. Girls should be allowed to get an education and marry someone they love.
We have many wild animals in our area. Our school is near a big forest. We hear the lions, the giraffes, the elephants moving around at night. Monkeys and baboons come all the way to our classroom area.
I want to thank your teachers for subscribing a football magazine for us. Thank you very much.
I loved the photo you sent me . Dennis Oliech is a great Kenyan player.

Hello Linda ! Coucou Linda ! :)

Hello Linda,

It's Yolann and Antoine !
In our class, there are no girls who play soccer but there are six boys who play soccer in a team , ( Quentin , Nathan , Clément, Benjamin and us) .

A bientôt !
Yolann and Antoine :)

Lavender on Kenyan orphaned Elephants.

Hey Everyone,
My name is lavender Amunga. I study at Sacho High school. I want to be a vet when I finish school. Let me tell you what inspired me be a vet. The reason I want to study Vetinary medicine is because our school is surrounded with a big African equatorial forest. In the forest we have many elephants. Some of the elephants in the forest are orphaned.  I want to treat orphaned baby elephants. In Kenya and Africa as a whole we have bad people called poachers. They hunt down the massive animal called elephants for their tusks. This has been ageless habit that has refused to die. Elephants are killed for their tusks and ivory. The young baby elephants are left to wonder around the park orphaned and often die on their own in the wild. So, sometime back someone from the USA set up the Nairobi elephant orphanage. Located just outside the capital city of Kenya called  Nairobi.  in Nairobi Game Park is the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s elephant orphanage.
The elephant orphanage in Nairobi takes in baby orphan elephants from all over Kenya and raises them together until they are old enough to survive on their own.
Visitors to Nairobi can visit the elephant orphanage to see the young elephants play ball, eat, take mud baths, and interact with their keepers. Now, that is what I want to become. A keeper of baby elephants.

Linda Speaks out

To all 4A class at Anne Frank School in Sauzé-Vaussais
My name is Linda Murgor,
I live in Kenya. I learn at Sacho High School. My country has good climate. Around our school we have many  forests we have very wild Animals. We have lions, elephants, giraffes, cheaters and other very dangerous cats.
I am a girl and I am 14 years old. I love football too. I play for our school’s girls soccer team. I am a striker.
The Kenya National soccer team is not very good. We always loose. But I think we loose because of the bad football politics in our country. We have very talented players playing for teams in Italy and France. My best Kenyan Player is called Dennis Oliech.
He plays for Date of birth February 2, 1985 (1985-02-02) (age 25) Place of birth Nairobi, Kenya Height 1.81 m (5 ft 11 12 in) Playing position Midfielder, winger Club information Current club Auxerre Number 14)

I watched the women football world cup two months ago. It was so nice.
Do you have girls playing soccer in your school or city?
I love football magazines. Do you have old copies of football magazines that are in English Language?
Would you mind sharing some with me?
I can also post to you post cards from Africa.
I live with an auntie of mine in the Police lines. Police lines are where the police in my city live. My aunty is a police woman.
Ten years from now, I should get a guy who loves me, I get married and we make money together.
If I were a prime minister, I would inject more money into helping the girl child. My feeling is girls are neglected in Africa. Girls need more attention, better education and their needs need to be met.
I need to hear more from you. Like tell me about what subjects you learn at school? What do you want to do after school?
