Dear Our pals at Ann Frank France.

We have been reading and seeing on TV that you are electing a new president soon. Who is your favourite. Our class has voted for Sarkozy. We think he likes Africa.

Now we wish to answer your questions. Lavender has volunteered to type our answers. 

  Yes we have visited Tanzania. Tanzania is an East African country just like ours. We are neighbors.  It is a bigger country than ours. But our country has a stronger economy than Tanzania.

2.      YaK! We do not eat monkeys or snails here. But we like game meat. Like rabbits, gazelles.

3.       Oh yes. Sarah Obama is our dear grandmother. We all love her. We make school tours to go and sit in her home and listen to stories about how she says to president Obama when he calls her. She is very funny.

4.       Not many people in our class have been to Nairobi. Nairobi is our capital city. We have parliament there. Paris is much bigger than Nairobi. Nairobi is a recent city. It begun in 1900 AD. Yet Paris has been there for many centuries.

5.       Yes. Swahili is our National language. Swahili is taught in schools and is compulsory for every Kenyan student. We love Swahili. English is our official language. So we all learn English. However we also have other tribal languages. We in Kenya come from different tribes. Examples of tribes in Kenya are Luo, Kikuyu and Masai. Some of the kids in our school speak Masai. We shall email you with Masai and Swahili words soon.

6.       Yes we have seen elephants. In Kenya elephants live in highlands and the plains. Next to our school is a big forest with elephants roaming in it.

7.       No. All elephants in Kenya are wild. We only see on TV Indian tamed elephants and we get so amazed.

8.       Yes!  Stanley Biwott is our hero. We in Kenya are champions.

1.       This year alone, Kenyans have won the London Marathon, The Chicago Marathon, The Boston Marathon, The  New York Marathon, the Berlin Marathon and the Tokyo Marathon. We are on top of the world when it comes to racing.
